Springtime in Cornwall
Visit Cornwall
Spring Blooms and Scenery
Anytime of year is always an exciting time of year to visit Cornwall, but spring time can be a particularly rewarding experience. Right now we are immersed in intense yellow blooms of gorse—it is unimaginably impressive. The cliffs are dressed in great swathes and patches of deep golden yellow. The air is heady with their scent which is delightful.
Wildlife and Flowers
The pretty pinky lilac Thrift is coming into flower and will soon carpet the cliffs too. The Thrift will be studded with blooms of Primroses, Bluebells, Daisys, Gorse, Heather and many other plant species particular to this area. Yesterday I saw a baby slow worm on the path and a Falcon sitting watchfully, high in her annual nesting position in an old joist hole in one of the many ruined Wheal Houses along the way.
Stay With Us
The stretch of South West Coastal Path where you can be lucky enough to see all of this as you pass over the sea lined cliffs tops is just 400 meters away from our lovely family run campsite. And who knows you might even bump into Aidan Turner or Eleanor Tomlinson aka Ross and Demelza Poldark on your travels; as filming for some of the series also takes place extremely close by. After an absorbing day exploring our Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, what better way to relax and unwind than to join us for an evening in our bar over a pint of local real ale or a glass of wine and a great meal from our menu, followed by a delicious homemade pudding. Finish off the night with a moonlit stroll back to your tent, tourer, motorhome, or one of our luxury holiday homes. See you soon. Charlie, Michelle, Eva & George
