There's nothing quite like watching your dog race across a Cornish beach with the Atlantic waves crashing in the background. One of the biggest advantages of staying at Trevaylor Campsite is that you're surrounded by some of West Cornwall's most spectacular coastline, with plenty of beaches welcoming dogs all year round or outside seasonal restrictions.

Beaches you can walk to 🥾

One of the joys of staying at Trevaylor Campsite is that you don't have to get in the car to enjoy some of Cornwall's most spectacular coastline. Several beautiful dog-friendly beaches are within walking distance, connected by the South West Coast Path and quiet country lanes.

Porth Nanven (Cot Valley)

Distance: Approximately 2 miles (45–60 minute walk)

Known locally as the "Dinosaur Egg Beach", Porth Nanven is one of Cornwall's most unique coastal spots. Rather than golden sand, you'll find enormous smooth stones shaped by centuries of Atlantic waves.

Dogs are welcome all year, making it perfect for adventurous walks and exploring rock pools. It's an excellent destination if you're already walking the South West Coast Path from Trevaylor Campsite.

Boat Cove

Distance: Approximately 2.5 miles (around a 50-minute walk)
Boat Cove is a peaceful, hidden cove tucked beneath the cliffs near Pendeen Watch Lighthouse. It's a favourite with locals looking for a quieter stretch of coastline away from the busier beaches.
Although it's a rocky cove rather than a sandy beach, adventurous dogs will love exploring the rock pools and shoreline.

Portheras Cove

Distance: Approximately 3 miles (around a 1-hour walk)

Portheras Cove is one of West Cornwall's hidden gems and well worth the scenic walk from Trevaylor Campsite. This beautiful sandy cove offers golden sand, crystal-clear water and dramatic cliffs, making it a favourite with locals.
Dogs are welcome all year, and because it's only accessible on foot or via a short walk from nearby parking, it remains much quieter than many of Cornwall's more famous beaches.
Keep an eye out for seals basking on the rocks offshore, particularly outside the busy summer season.
